Hello parents and students,
It is getting closer and closer to Christmas and everyone is getting so excited. Today, we discussed Secret Santa (Holiday Gift Exchange), Christmas concert, Bake Sale (which is tomorrow!!!), Christmas door decorating, toy drive, and book fair.
In math, we started by doing table discussion on triangles/polygons and parallel lines. We then learned how to construct figures and I gave extra review on parallel lines. Here is a video on how to construct figures.
In UOI, we discussed our results from the card challenge on Friday, we then reviewed any surprise results and how hard it can actually be to distinguish between different characteristics. We also took up the answers to the homework. Afterwards, the students got their Kingdom Logo Project, where they have to create a logo for a kingdom without using the kingdoms name. They also have to create a description, the tentative due date is this Wednesday, where we will have an in class logo guessing challenge. Here are some pictures of the designers.
Unfortunately, the students did not get time to work on their language summative, however I will try to give them extra time tomorrow.
