Dear parents and students,
It’s Friday and it was a frantic day today. We started off the day
with the spelling test. Next, we did table discussions about the homework on
Input/Output tables; the students even traded their patterns for number 7 with
each other. Afterwards, we switched to the new lesson: modeling with patterns. This
lesson along with the one on Monday takes the mathematical concept of
input/output tables and applies it to real life situations. Today, we looked at
shapes; we took geoboards and we built squares in increasing size and measured
their perimeter. We concluded by taking a note on how to find the patterns from the
chart using pattern rules.
In UOI, the students continued working on their research and some
students are starting their hypothesis! Here are some pictures from the
research session.
Also, DRA's have gone home today. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about them.
In the afternoon, we also had out assembly for the Inquirer winners this year. Here are the pictures of the winners.
