Hello parents and students,
It was a whirlwind of a day today with many
activities. We started the day with math, where we did table discussions for
the patterning homework. Then we continued discussing patterns, and introduced
the term recursive patterns. Recursive patterns are where the
pattern numbers are repeating, therefore not alternating or increasing/decreasing
patterns. The students worked on practice questions and homework. A lot of the
students were able to get majority of the work done in class. Additionally, in the new unit the students are allowed calculators and I recommend getting a non-scientific
calculator.
I also handed back tests today, we discussed the common
mistakes and where the students could improve. The tests need to be signed and
returned with the purple folder.
In UOI and language, I conferenced majority of the
students about their science fair questions, the questions were interesting and
I am really excited to see how the projects turn out. The students then started
filling in and explaining their variables.
