Hello parents and students,
It was terrific Tuesday today.
The students began by completing their round tables in math. We then did a
quick ‘plicker’ quiz for math. I am using the results to gain a better
understanding of which students need additional help and work problems. We then
learned about multiplying decimals. Here is a song video that can help with
this, but basically the students have to multiply regularly and then move the
decimal over the SAME number of decimal places as the question.
In language, we first completed
our second round of literature circles and I have marked all of them. The
students then worked on speeches. I am individually conferencing each students
to provide feedback and tips. We will be having our grade 5 class competition
on February 6 and then the final school competition on February 9th!
In UOI, the students completed a
classroom walk-about to see all the amazing “A world without…” posters. Here
are pictures from that activity.
We then nominated the top posters
and voted for the top three. The top three winners are below. The first place
winner is Rashad, second place Karina, and third place Adam. They all get their
posters posted around the school, well done!
