Dance Party Day

Good evening Parents and Students

In Mathematics today, I handed out the next sheet on "Exploring Patterns in Decimals with a Calculator". Students have permission to use a calculator for this Math sheet. We will go over both sheets in Math class on Monday afternoon.

In Language Arts today, we got our Spelling Test completed.

In UOI today, we discussed in our table groups "Mustafa takes a walk". Using the information pages from yesterday, the students determined what rights and freedoms were displayed in the story. Then we started our UOI summative. For this summative we have combined both classes and they were super excited about it! In their groups, students are responsible for creating their own country and all the important aspects of it (name, flag, motto, government, constitution, services, etc.) It was great to see the students be so engaged! At the end of the summative students will be presenting their country and the potential citizens (students and parents) will have a vote! Please keep May 3rd in mind, we hope to have parents attend!

Homework:

Language:
Literature Circle on our Novel Study Chapters 8 to 12. Please have your role completed by class-time on Monday.

Math:

Please complete the sheet called "Exploring Patterns in Decimals with a Calculator". If you have not finished yesterday's sheet "Patterns in Multiplication" please do so as well. We will go over both sheets in Math on Monday.

UOI:

No homework unless you have not completed your "Take a Stand" Assignment. If that is not finished, please complete it and turn it in on Monday. Please bring in signed UOI quiz.

Dance Party was Awesome!
The Treat Table was a huge success and the students enjoyed dancing to the music.

So, get out there SJA, and raise some money!!!!!

Dear parents/ guardians,

We are Grade 6 students doing a project called exhibition. Our topic is child neglect. For our action we chose to do a clothing donation for the children that may have experienced neglect in our community. We will be donating all of the gently used clothing to the CAS and local charities. If you would like to donate any gently used clothing please place them in the box labeled Clothing Donations for the CAS and Surrounding charities. It can be found by the SJA back door where you come into the school in the morning. The last day to make a donation is Wednesday, April 26.

Sincerely,

Alexis, Alex and Wael (Grade 6)

As a reminder: St.Jude's Academy is now affiliated with an official soccer club called St. Jude's FC. Students of St.Jude are given a 33% discount that will allow them to join the club and play competitively with other soccer clubs this spring and summer (starting most likely April to September). The students will be working with excellent coaches and going to competitions on the weekend. Practices will be held (most likely) right after school twice a week. In April, besides the soccer field, the students will have a chance to play in our official soccer dome! I think this is a great opportunity!! The students have been given forms (I can e-mail extras), they should try to submit the form as soon as possible.
