Fast Track Friday

Dear parents and students,

I hope it is a great Friday for everyone so far. Today, the students were in with Ms.Walls while I worked with the grade 1's because of Track and Field. Here is the post from yesterday.

Today, we started the day with out in spelling bee. I would like to congratulate Hannah, Surkhab, and Neel on making it to the school spelling bee. Everyone did super well and tried their best.

In math today, we took up answers from the conversion sheets as a round table. For the quiz, the students will not be provided with the chart so they have to remember the mnemonic device (King Henry Died By Drinking Chocolate Milk). For today's lesson, The students learned about measuring the circumference of  circular objects, by using string and rulers.

In UOI today, we learned about pixels and binary code pictures which we made into a special surprise.

In art/language today, the students' took their Cree art research sheets and nominated the top 3 artwork they would like to make. Artwork from Adam, Christiaan, and Cassidy were selected as the final ones. The students then got into groups with their art leaders to make success criteria and material list for the art pieces. Finally, as a class we created a rubric that we would like our art projects to be marked with. On Monday, students will bring in their materials so that they can start creating their art pieces.

  • Language: Spelling test Monday lesson # 28, Grade 6 spelling bee competition Monday
