Dear parents and students,
Today, we started the day with the Spelling Bee. In the end, Hannah was able to place third-place in the grade 5 division and Chelsea placed second in the grade 6 division! Great job to Tristan as well! Chelsea will be moving onto the inter school competition on May 31st, held at St.Judes Academy (starts at around 10:00 am).
In math, we learned the equation of finding the area of a rectangle: A=L x w. In order to get full marks the students have to remember to restate the equation each time, and show all their work.
In UOI, the students were introduced to Prezi. This is the program we will be using for presentations of Project 101. Here is a video that the students can watch for introduction. A big part of learning a new software is to program solve, the students can do this by watching youtube tutorial or using Google to find user answers. The Prezi's will be due Tuesday.
At the end of the day, we also practiced our song for Arts' night. By Tuesday next week, all students should have the entire song memorized.
