Fantastic Friday

Hello parents and students,

We had a very fantastic Friday. We started the day with our spelling test. We then switched over to math. As always, we took up the homework questions and reviewed any concerns that the students might have. We created rules for solving Order of Operations and the students wrote it into their books. Next, we had a order of operation riddle that each group had to solve; they were given a white board marker and the numbers 3, 7, 12, 2 and they had to figure our how they could make those equal 60! In the end, all groups were able to solve the riddle. Here are some pictures from that activity. Math homework over the weekend is to do more order of operation questions.

In UOI, we finished our variable sheet and we came up with the rule for creating questions:
“How does the independent variable affect the dependent variable?
We then started our Skittle lab. We will be working on this over the next week. For a bonus, students can complete the scientific method crossword over the weekend. Here are pictures of the children working hard during that activity.

In language, besides spelling, we spoke about International day and discussed what we want to research. Then the students were split into pairs and they picked topics. The students have started their research and over the weekend they have to find websites and information to discuss with their partner on Monday.
