Terrific Tuesday

Hello to all my lovely parents and students,

We had a lovely day today! It started with a house game all about allergies, zeta won with theta closely behind. In class, we spent a lot of time focusing on math. We took up the answers from the question last night and then we completed our new lesson on place value and understanding large numbers. We watched a video on place values that the students loved (place value video) we then completed our anchor chart as a class together. The students were able to complete a similar chart in their books so they have a reference for tonight's homework.

For language, the students were given their reading logs journals and they had to set them up. Tonight they have to complete their first reading log. 

For UOI, we started What's the Matter. We discussed the lines of inquiry and the science fair. The children were very excited. we then watched a video about matter and created our vocabulary list for the UOI (matter introduction video). 

After gym today, we took a picture with the entire class and Mr.Beresford, the new P.E. teacher. 

Homework/Reminders

• Math: Page 38 #1,3a,4,5,6,9 and special challenge 10
• Language: Read for 20 mins and complete 1 reading log question (remember the answer must be at least 3-4 sentences, grammar and spelling will be checked) 
• Spelling: Complete the final paragraph in lesson 1, if you did not last night  
• Parents please label all clothing-if the students misplace clothing we are having a hard time finding them. If you would like iron-labels then please let me know and I will send the form home tomorrow.
